Position Overview
The Sawmill Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of sawmill operations, ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This position plays a crucial role in optimizing processes and leading the production team toward continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily operations of the sawmill to ensure productivity and efficiency.
Lead and develop production team members, fostering a culture of safety and performance excellence.
Monitor production metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the manufacturing environment.
Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
Oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards for lumber production.
Collaborate with management to develop and implement operational strategies and goals.
Manage inventory, scheduling, and resource allocation for optimal production output.

Qualifications

7+ years of sawmill industry experience at a Superintendent or above level.
Proven experience in sawmill, pulp/paper, wood, and or lumber operations and production management.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams in a production environment.
Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in the lumber industry.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to analyze production data and implement process improvements.
