POSITION TITLE: Quality Engineer I
SHIFT: 1st
SECTION OR DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance (Nissan Business Unit)
REPORTS TO: QA Manager
LOCATION: LaVergne, Tennessee

BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
Generate, distribute, analyze, file and edit claim reports as needed. Report any defects or concerns from the customer to manufacturing plants
Follow up with countermeasures from manufacturing (Mexico, Vietnam, and Philippine operations).
Administrate, supervise and coordinate reworks and inspections as needed. Train inspectors and keep records of all sort activities
Follow up on trials and design/production requests.
Supervise QA technicians and temporary employees
Track quality cost
Support IATF certification activities for QA department
Support QA activities at customer as needed
Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor degree required
Minimum 1-3 years of progressive engineering experience in quality area
Automotive experience preferred
Ability to handle multiple priorities
Strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to be organized and efficient scheduling time
Strong computer skills (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to read drawings or blue prints
Bi-lingual language skills preferred (Spanish & English)
Ability to work under minimal supervision and travel as needed
Ability to work overtime and or weekends as needed
