Find the Right Candidates with the Help of a Professional Recruiter
Many hiring managers know the challenges that come with trying to find the right talent. Sometimes too many people apply for a position and it’s almost impossible to select the best candidate. Other times, managers are desperate to fill a position, but no one is applying.
Partnering with an external recruiter can help solve these problems. If you’ve never worked with a recruiting agency before, we’ve broken down some common questions and the advantages of using a professional recruiter.
What is a recruiter?
Recruiters, or sometimes called headhunters, are search professionals who help employers find the right employees. Typically, recruiters work for an agency and will use their resources and expertise to qualify candidates so hiring managers only interview the best applicants. A recruiter can verify the applicants a company already has, or start from scratch and find talent if there are zero prospects.
How are recruiters paid?
In most cases, the business that partners with the recruiter is responsible for compensation. The compensation structure normally comes in two forms: Contingency or retainer. Under a contingency structure, a recruiter is not paid until the position is filled. Under a retainer structure, the fee is all paid up front.
The cost involved also depends on the extent of the search. Obviously, the fee for finding a CEO to run a Fortune 100 will cost much more than finding a summer intern for a small business.
