Have you met Recruiting Manager Bobby June, one of CyberCoders' Rockstar Recruiters?
Bobby is a dedicated IT recruiter who takes pride in his work and the relationships he has created at CyberCoders. "The seemingly endless need for qualified candidates in this economy drives me to work until all my openings are filled with top notch talent and my clients are satisfied," says Bobby. "I love the fact that I have helped a person out with their career and given them the growth needed in order to reach a sense of fulfillment."
1. Tell us about an exciting job match you made recently?
The most recent placement I did was a Python Engineer coming out of a company where the work was stagnant, he was in pure maintenance mode, and he was looking to get out ASAP. I caught him at the right time and introduced him to an animation company with a cloud hosted platform in San Francisco that would cut his current commute in half. He was a sharp engineer from a technical perspective but what got him the job was the fact that I prepped him to express specifically why he’s interested in animation and utilizing AWS on a daily basis. After he accepted my client’s offer, he expressed sincere gratitude and excitement. The feeling was mutual from the client’s end and it was a win-win all around!
2. What drives you to go above and beyond?
I’m extremely competitive and hold myself to the highest level of achievement and am only satisfied when I hit my personal and team goals every quarter. The fact that I can run my desk like it’s my own business is the reason I joined CyberCoders and still one of the main reasons why I love my job here. Having this luxury makes having a big quarter or a big year that much sweeter, knowing it was 100% myself who manufactured this.
3. What do you think separates CyberCoders from the average recruiting firm?
The blend of the personnel and our software is what truly puts us second to none in my opinion. Working in our environment with some of the top sales people in our industry is a gift in itself alone, especially for someone new to the arena; it allows them to learn how to perform at a high level through direct guidance from management and also organically by listening to what’s going on on the floor. Our software is pretty amazing as well, I have to give Cyrus and our software engineering team props for all the heavy lifting it does for our team.
4. What is your favorite part about being a recruiter?
Every single day is different in a sense that the product you’re selling (candidate) and the consumer (client) are ever changing. I’m able to interact with a diverse group of people to form a partnership for a mutually beneficial goal – get them a new job or fill their role. When everything works out, both parties are happy, bridges are built, a smooth transaction occurs, and the “thank you” you receive as a recruiter will make you go home with a smile on your face.
5. Tell us a bit about what industries and positions you recruit for.
I specialize in software development roles, specially DevOps oriented and Big Data Engineering around the Bay area and remotely. Most of the roles I work are individual contributor based with candidates utilizing Python, JavaScript, AWS, Docker, and Hadoop.
6. What are your favorite hobbies or activities outside of the office?
I can often be found working on home improvement projects, catching a local concert, or simply enjoying an ice cold IPA with friends and family. I try and get out of town at least once a month and travel to a random spot for some new scenery just for the weekend.
