We are a top Family Law Group operating throughout New Jersey. We handle all aspects of divorce, alimony, child custody, child support, equitable distribution of property, domestic violence, mediation, and all other family law-related matters.
We are seeking a very special family law paralegal/legal assistant to join our firm. In this position, you will have the rare opportunity to be an active participant in the firm and work closely with other paralegals, attorneys, and administrators.
Responsibilities
-Assist attorneys in preparing cases for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions with exhibits,/organizing discovery, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
-Work with attorneys in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
-Draft Case Information Statements and prepare child support guidelines
-Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff in a courteous and professional manner
-Manage attorneys calendars including confirming and coordinating court appearances, meetings, etc.
-Assist with court filings, assembling motions, and coordinating process servers
-Remind attorneys of deadlines for filings, appearances, meetings, etc.
-Prioritization of workload in accordance with deadlines be able to multi-task
-Handle various administrative duties such as maintaining proper electronic files and paper files, when appropriate
Qualifications
-2+ years of family law experience
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Possess outstanding organizational and time management skills
-Enjoy interacting with both clients and potential clients as well as all colleagues
-Familiarity with CIS software, and Microsoft Office 365/Teams
-SharePoint Exp. a Plus
