Estimating Manager

Position Overview
The Estimating Manager is responsible for overseeing the estimation process for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost assessments. This role involves leading a team of estimators, collaborating with project managers, and utilizing industry-standard software to provide clients with competitive and realistic project bids.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the estimation team, providing guidance and support on all estimating activities.
Utilize Primavera and HeavyBid software to develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for various projects.
Review project specifications and drawings to prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis.
Collaborate with project management and procurement teams to ensure alignment on project goals and budgets.
Conduct risk analysis to identify potential cost overruns and propose strategies to mitigate risks.
Engage in contract negotiation to secure favorable terms and conditions for projects.
Implement value engineering practices to optimize costs and enhance project value.
Prepare and present detailed estimates and reports to stakeholders and clients.
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations during the estimation process.
Foster a culture of team leadership and continuous improvement within the estimating department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in estimating for construction projects, with a strong track record of successful bids.
Proficiency in Primavera and HeavyBid software is essential.
Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting and cost analysis.
Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Expertise in risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
Excellent understanding of construction management processes and methodologies.
Familiarity with contract negotiation techniques and best practices.
Experience in quantity takeoff and value engineering practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
