Title: Electrical Engineer/Sr. Electrical Engineer
Location: Fairfax, VA- Hybrid schedule
Requirements: Electrical system design, low-voltage systems, AutoCAD/MicroStation and NEC familiarity
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Civil Engineering firm based in Fairfax VA. The ideal candidate will be supporting and implementing the design of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, electrical systems design and the ability to work collaboratively on diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems and components in compliance with industry standards.
Utilize AutoCAD and MicroStation for creating detailed electrical schematics and layouts.
Conduct occasional field inspections to ensure electrical installations meet design specifications and safety standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into larger projects.
Prepare and review technical documentation and reports related to electrical designs.
Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code and other relevant regulations.
Participate in quality assurance processes to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer with a strong focus on system design.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with Microstation is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code and industry standards.
Experience with low voltage power distribution and 480VAC systems is preferred. background with Intelligent Transportation Systems and/or Electronic Tolling Systems is a big bonus.
Familiarity with Ethernet, IPV4, and IPV6 networking standards is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
